When is a Daily the right choice over a Transit or Sprinter?
When the work is genuinely heavy or the van carries a demanding body — a big Luton, a heavy tipper, a mobile workshop. The ladder chassis takes body loads that a monocoque van does not. For general delivery work it is more van than most operators need.
Do I need a C1 licence for a heavier Daily?
Anything plated above 3,500 kg needs C1 entitlement, which drivers who passed their test after 1 January 1997 do not hold automatically. Drivers who passed before that date usually have C1 grandfather rights. Check your drivers before specifying a heavier vehicle.
Does a heavier Daily need a tachograph?
Goods vehicles over 3,500 kg including any trailer generally fall within drivers' hours and tachograph rules, with some exemptions. It also brings operator licensing into scope for hire or reward work. This is worth getting right before you order, and we will flag it in your quote.
